How can I reside legally in Spain after the end of the transition period on 31 December 2020?

If you were lawfully living in Spain before the end of 2020, you will be under the provisions of the Withdrawal Agreement. This means that you are entitled to continue living in Spain as you used to, and to apply for residency under similar requisites as other EU nationals if you didn't apply yet.

If you are planning to come to Spain from 1 January 2021 onwards, you will only be able to stay for a maximum of 90 days every 180-day period. For longer stays, you will need to apply for a visa adapted to the nature of your visit. You can check our visa guides for more information.
